PMDD, or Pre Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder, (now also known simply as PMD, dropping the 'disorder'), is often described as 'very severe premenstrual syndrome' and can cause some to feel suicidal. According to the mental health charity, Mind, PMDD "causes a range of emotional and physical symptoms every month during the week or two before your period".
Our free course on social prescription (self referral also available - sign yourself up today), is supportive of those who think they may have or who have been diagnosed with PMDD through guiding participants to better understand every day of their cycle and providing a language that can be used to evidence and describe the experience to employers or healthcare professionals. The course also supports those who are suffering with their menstrual cycle with pain or other symptoms, including peri-menopause.
Please visit our Crisis Support page if you are seeking immediate support for suicidal feelings - remember, you are not alone.
